The Ruthless Cutthroat Soap Industry...

Writer's picture: Noel MinNoel Min

Not really...this is what we in the industry call "clickbait". It has been a wild few months. We have had two soap drops and a merch drop, and with that, we are truly grateful for all the support.

What started as a way to provide some soap to my buddies turned into something just a bit more. I was taken aback by the overwhelming support and the opportunity to provide something for everyone who walked through the doors of Matrix HQ.

In my first post, I wrote about how our progress in this sport is forged in literal blood, sweat, and tears...we are here to provide you with the tools necessary to wash that shit off. Nobody likes to be sidelined over skin nastiness.

Couple of things I have learned along the way...

I wanted to maximize my volume with every soap batch, I foolishly thought that I could yield 13-15 bars of Masters 1 out of the long rectangle mold. And while I may have succeeded, my cuts were inconsistent, and most bars just didn't make the cut. I have since transitioned to a wire soap cutter with the goal of 10 bars per mold, making my cuts more consistent.

I originally had a mix of Olive Oil based soaps and Coconut Oil based soaps. We made the move to Coconut Oil based soaps full go. While nothing is inherently wrong with Olive Oil, the end product (lather and feel) was sort of left to be desired.

And lastly, exfoliant. Some bars were a little more aggressive with the scrubby-ness, so I dialed that back a bit, along with the option to have a soap with no exfoliant.

Moving Forward...

5 Rashguard drops!!! Yup we have one down, one pre order in the chute and one collab in the process!!!

Liquid Soap: Already have some inquiries to outfit the gym with some liquid soap, so be on the lookout for that.

Sponsorship Opportunities: Everyone who wants to compete, should be able to compete. Cost should not be a factor. We have a sponsorship program to allow an aspiring competitor to enter the arena and compete...hit me up for more info!

Thanks again for taking the time to read this, truly grateful for all the love and support.
